Built on real experience in the field
HomeForward was founded by Dave Sershen, who has nearly 20 years of experience in the construction industry, working in the field on homes and buildings.
That experience matters. When Dave walks through your home, he isn’t looking at just one system. He understands how the electrical, the heating and gas, and the structure all work together, and how a problem in one place often shows up in another.
I treat every home like it’s my own family’s.

Why HomeForward
Dave started HomeForward to make it easier for homeowners to plan for the future, without having to call a dozen different contractors and piece it all together on their own. With years of experience in the field and working alongside contractors, he can help you understand what your home needs and get the right people lined up.
The aging-in-place side of the work is personal. Dave has older family members, and a disabled nephew who needs a lot of accessibility and medical-related work done at home. Looking for help with that, he found there wasn’t much out there for families in that situation. HomeForward exists to fill that gap, to help homeowners, and the people they care for, stay safe and comfortable at home.
Independent, and on your side
HomeForward doesn’t sell repairs or remodels, and never accepts referral fees from contractors. That means when Dave tells you what to address first, it’s based on what your home actually needs, not on what someone wants to sell you. He’s currently completing his Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) credential.
Dave lives in the Saratoga area with his young daughter and his German shepherds, and serves homeowners throughout the Capital Region.
HomeForward provides independent, visual home planning assessments. It does not perform licensed electrical, gas, or contracting work. When hands-on work is needed, we help you find the right licensed professionals.
